“Get my swan costume ready!”
According to legend, these were the last words of one of the greatest ballet dancers of all time. Fanatical attitude to work, solid temper and iron will have made her the idol of millions. Her dances were filled with romance and grace. “The Dying Swan” (originally, just “Swan”) dance became Pavlova’s finest hour; later Anna got herself a “home swan” named Jack.
Anna Pavlova has inspired countless number of people to take ballet classes; it was her who has persuaded Sergei Diaghilev to include ballet in his “Les Saisons Russes” – before there was just the opera. Pavlova has left the stage at the height of her career; she has bought a mansion in London. Her house Thee was a garden by her house, and in the pond – of course! – there were swans swimming.
In addition to her incredible talent, Anna differed with kindness and compassion; she engaged in charity and helped the orphans
We invite you to our “Anna Pavlova” room, named after the legendary ballerina. Here, while sitting in a comfortable velvet chair of early 20th century, you can drink tea (or some stronger beverage) and enjoy the photos of the best Anna’s roles. And the most important room bonus is a balcony with a magnificent view. Evenings spent here will become your best memories of St. Petersburg.
